  • In Chicago, a college basketball coach was fired for refusing an abortion.

  • A Long Island restaurant fired an employee after she informed them that she was pregnant.

  • In an especially ironic case, a manager filed charges against a Philadelphia Maternity Shop for firing pregnant employees.

  • In Washington, D.C., three paramedics were pressured into abortion after their boss said, "You have a choice to make."

These cases are spotlighted in a 60-second radio ad from the Elliot Institute's The UnChoice campaign. It is the fourth in a series of four 60-second and four 30-second ads.  To put it mildly, these are not portraits of "choice" by any humane standard. Coerced abortion -- even under current lax laws -- is illegal and an internationally recognized human rights abuse, yet it happens routinely in America and beyond.

The UnChoice ads re-focus public attention on new evidence that abortion is not about authentic choice. It also informs the public about post-abortion injury, risk and heartbreak that is literally and figuratively killing women, too. Women are dying, too, before, during and after abortion.


Grounded in and guided by over 20 years' expertise

For over two decades, the Elliot Institute has been proactively engaged in academic research, education and outreach regarding abortion's impact -- before, during and after abortion.  The UnChoice campaign is grounded in and guided by this expertise. It focuses the public's attention first on coercion before abortion (illegal, cruel and unjust) and further harm and heartbreak after abortion that can shatter the lives of women, men and families in our midst.
