OCTOBER PRO-LIFE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH THOUGHTS & PRAYERS "Abuser poses as father of 16-year-old girl in order to obtain abortion." "Parents use at least 10 abortions to cover up serial sexual abuse of daughters." Read two excerpts in a quick update from our Church Awareness Project blog.
During October, many pro-life individuals and organizations are participating in prayer, fasting, vigils, events and other community outreach efforts. This type of prayerful and practical outreach matters for babies, women and families, for a multitude of reasons.
The following and upcoming excerpts of Forced Abortion in America and pro-woman/pro-life prayers are reminders of how much is at stake and why it's urgent.
Second in a Series
Check our Church Awareness Project blog for quick updates to use and share. If you're not participating already, join our church outreach project to help get more pastors involved in ending abortion's abuses to women, men, babies and families, while sharing God's mercy, our own vigilance and charity, and opening doors to healing and restoration.
You'll receive free resources to share with your pastor and you'll be the first to know about new outreach projects.
Today's post is the second in a series of excerpts from:
- Forced Abortion in America (downloadable versions include the flyer, fact sheet and 22-page report with citations)
- Pro-woman/Pro-life prayers page (also available as a downloadable pdf),
The "Forced Abortion in America" excerpts are disturbing, yet important to read. They expose profound exploitation and human rights abuses associated with abortion, especially for women and families in vulnerable situations. Coercion is illegal, yet common and seldom reported. (Download a list of places to find help before or after abortion.) The examples below are, unfortunately, among many examples printed in the Forced Abortion report from the Elliot Institute.
A 36-year-old man was sentenced to 18 months to two years in prison for felony child abuse after he posed as the father of a 16-year-old girl whom he was sexually abusing and signed consent forms for an abortion at an Omaha abortion clinic. The man claimed he was remorseful about the situation, but prosecutors said he continued to write to the girl while in jail and filed frivolous protection orders against her parents.
