January marks the unfortunate anniversary of Roe v. Wade -- a Supreme Court decision that opened the doors to abortion on demand in America. Since then, millions of babies have been killed and mothers, too, though the mothers lost are seldom noted or even counted as statistics.
Throughout January, pro-lifers across the country will once again gather, speak, reach out and pray for an end to abortion. We will remind others of the lives lost through abortion and the trauma it can cause to all involved.
A Holistic Message, A New Opportunity
Once again, the Elliot Institute will be offering free, timely resources to help educate the public, change the debate, open doors and encourage hope and healing for those already wounded or the families of those lost.
This year, consider taking the opportunity to run a holistic, evidence-based Signature Ad that "counts" women maimed, exploited, killed or lost to abortion ... that challenges the culture and the presumption of "choice" ... that sheds light on abortion's injustice and trauma to women, too. Please share our Signature Ad with your local pro-life or other compassionate groups and/or share one of the smaller non-signature versions mentioned further below.
Symbolism of the Broken/Restored Rose
Many of these ads and educational materials feature a beautiful stained-glass rose, which symbolizes the truth that abortion breaks hearts, souls and lives ... but also that God can renew, heal and restore ... that He can bring good out of heartbreaking and seemingly hopeless situations.
Those still at risk of unwanted abortions and those already hurt by pregnancy- and abortion-related injustices are often dismissed, condemned or told to "get over it" by others. Sadly, this often includes experts who deny prevalent unwanted, coerced or forced abortions and post-abortion grief, injury and maternal death rates.
Too often, this leaves teens, women and families at risk feeling that they have nowhere to turn for help. In some cases, it can lead to violence or even suicide, especially among teens and young women or vulnerable families.
This ad challenges busy Americans, "fence-sitters" and those who dislike yet tolerate abortion to wake up to the toll this has and is taking on their neighbors, friends and families. At the same time, it extends help and hope before and after abortion.
