Major Changes! Good and Bad. Please Read All.

Dear Friend,

The good news first:

We now have access to data covering all seventeen states that pay for abortions through Medicaid. Our previous studies of California’s Medicaid proved there are higher rates of psychiatric illness and death after abortion. With this new data, we will be publishing several new studies over the next two years.

Now, several bits of the bad news:

My assistant, Amy Sobie, has been battling uterine cancer since February. She has had to move to Wisconsin, so Amy is no longer able to work for me.

As a result, our productivity has declined. All administrative, bookkeeping, fundraising and editing tasks have moved to my desktop.

Amy’s move has also forced a change of address. I’ve moved our office from Springfield IL down to St. Peters MO where I had to move several years ago for family reasons.

These problems have also greatly diminished our fundraising. We had a net loss of $14,099 for our fiscal year ending June 30th. Our bank reserves are down to only $11,523.

To avoid going into the red, I have not taken a paycheck since April. At some point soon, I will need to start getting paid again.

To get back on track for this year, we need to raise $35,000 by December 31st.

Here is the plan:
  • When donations improve, I’ll hire a new assistant, probably part time.

  • In the meantime, we will no longer be mailing out monthly update letters. To keep informed, please sign up for our email list at AfterAbortion.org.

  • We will no longer publish and mail The Post-Abortion Review. All articles and updates will be emailed and published at AfterAbortion.org.

  • In the past, we sent a thank you letter for every donation, but I can’t keep up alone. Please know that your donations are deeply appreciated. This shortcut will allow me to focus more time on our research and advocacy efforts.

  • Please become a Sustaining Partner by automating a regular schedule of donations. There are two ways to do this.  First, you can setup recurring credit card payment using our donation link at AfterAbortion.org. Or, you can your own bank’s free bill pay option to setup recurring payments by check. Just be sure to use our new mailing address (PO Box 194, St. Peters, MO 63376).

One time donations are also welcome and very much needed.

So please don’t let my emphasis on Sustaining Partners discourage you if prefer to send just one check! (Again, please use our new address: PO Box 194, St. Peters, MO 63376).

Remember, we have only 164 active donors (those who have donated in the last year).

But there is nearly an equal number who have helped in the past but just not recently. If you fall into the latter group, please renew your support and become an active donor today.

We also have over 3000 people on our email list.  If you are one of these who are interested in our work, but have never supported us with a donation, please consider doing so today.

With your help we will continue to provide the internet’s most popular and complete resources on abortion’s risks, will lead efforts to prevent coerced and unsafe abortions, and will continue to promote post-abortion healing.

As always, you and your family are in my prayers. Please remember Amy, myself, and our families in yours.

Yours for Life in Christ,

David C. Reardon
Director

P.S.—Please make your most generous donation today.
