Lindie wrote us recently. I received her note just as I was sitting down to
write our Spring fundraising letter.
Obviously, I emailed Lindie
first. Among the many things I wrote, I offered to speak to her husband
personally, if she wanted, adding:
I don’t want to judge
him too harshly, because our culture has created a lot of ignorance and
misconceptions about how abortion is an “easy” solution to problems.
But if he takes the
time to learn the truth, there is no way a loving husband could ask his wife to
go through this.
My email included
links to our website pages that summarize the research showing higher rates of
psychological problems, physical risks, and testimonies of what other women
have suffered.
Perhaps most
importantly, it included a link to the evidence proving that a woman who feels
pressured into an abortion is at the very highest risk of suffering severe problems.

Sure, we are miniscule
compared to the Goliath of Planned Parenthood. They loudly insist: “Abortion is
safe.” But our little ministry is a pain in their side. We’re being heard. And
they hate it.

I don’t know yet if my
email to Lindie will save her and her baby. Perhaps I never will. Most women
don’t take the time to send us updates.
But I know God has us
here to plant seeds. Only He sees and reaps the harvest. Sometimes, it saving a
life. Other times, it bear fruit in helping someone to repent and find healing
later.
Abortion rates are
down. Awareness of abortion’s terrible effects are up. More and more women and
men are turning to post-abortion ministries for help.
