Unchoice Signature/Display Ads Now Available for January

Is your church, pro-life group, or post-abortion healing ministry planning a signature ad for January? Our "Unchoice" signature ad highlights coerced and unwanted abortions while bringing a message of healing and hope to those struggling with the pain of an unwanted or regretted abortion. This is a beautiful way to (1) raise awareness about coerced, unwanted, or uninformed abortions and post-abortion trauma, (2) expose abortion's harm to everyone involved, including those it was supposed to help, (3) express your concern over the pressures and obstacles women face, and (4) open the door to healing for the 50 million women and men who have lost a child to abortion.

The ad can be run as a signature ad or a stand-alone display ad without signatures. It also includes space to advertise an upcoming event such as a rally, speaker, informational meeting, or healing program. You can view and download the ad at www.unfairchoice.info/display4.htm.

By the way, our fundraising efforts for the Unchoice education/outreach campaign are still going on. Please say a prayer that our base of supporters grows enough to support this much-needed effort. To make a contribution, click here or call 1-888-412-2676.

Thank you!

Abortion Regulation Laws Take Effect in Oklahoma

A law requiring parents to give consent before a minor girl has an abortion is one of several pro- life laws that recently went into effect in Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Board of Health approved a consent form that would require the signature of at least one parent before a minor girl undergoes an abortion. The measure, along with laws requiring abortion patients to be given information about fetal pain and giving them the option of seeing an ultrasound before the abortion, has been opposed by abortion advocates but can go into effect while a lawsuit filed by the abortion businesses moves forward, a Court of Appeals has ruled.

Pro-life advocates support parental consent laws because they say that parents need to know if their daughter is undergoing a procedure with such severe physical and emotional aftereffects, and that bypassing the parents makes it easier for sexual predators to use abortion to cover up their abuse of minor girls.

Appeals Court Upholds Parts of Ohio Abortion Bill

An appeals court has ruled on an eight-year-old informed consent and parental consent law in Ohio, upholding some parts of the law while discarding others.

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld parts of the law requiring that abortion businesses give women information about abortion risks and alternatives in person 24 hours before performing the abortion, saying that the requirements did not pose an undue burden to women. It also overturned a provision that teens seeking a judical bypass in order to obtain an abortion without parental consent could not file a second bypass request if the first one was denied. The court did, however, uphold the rest of the parental consent law.

Reach Students With Hope and Healing

"If your paper would have been available to me in college I would never have had an abortion." --Nancy

Hope and Healing, the Elliot Institute's 12-page newspaper insert on post-abortion issues and healing, exposes the truth about the pain and suffering caused by abortion and lets those struggling after a past abortion know they are not alone. You can help spread this vital message of awareness and healing to students and others in your community. Hope and Healing will:

  • reduce the abortion rate by discouraging the notion that abortion is a good solution to a crisis pregnancy,
  • reduce the rate of unwanted abortions by helping those who would pressure women into abortion "for their own good" understand the long-term negative effects abortion will have on their loved ones,
  • help foster post-abortion healing by letting those struggling with a past-abortion know they are not alone and encourage them to seek help through a post-abortion ministry,
  • raise awareness of post-abortion issues and the need for healing,
  • help readers respond in an empathetic and understanding way to their loved ones who have experienced abortion, and
  • foster a positive pro-woman image of the pro-life community.

Hope and Healing is ideal for running as a paid insert in your college, community, or local newspaper. It can also be distributed at churches, crisis pregnancy centers, pro-life offices, doctor's and counselor's offices, at your pro-life committee's informational table or booth at events, in the workplace and in information venues in your community.

You can take a look at Hope and Healing on our web site at www.afterabortion.info/hope/pageview.htm. Every crisis pregnancy center, post-abortion ministry and pro-life group should have copies of this valuable piece on hand! A packet of 50 inserts is available for only $20 (U.S. shipping included), or ask about our low prices for bulk orders. To place an order or for more information, call 1-888-412-2676 or send an email to amy@afterabortion.info.
