Where are my BlockBase+ blocks?
Once installed, open EQ8 and go to the Block Library. You should see BlockBase Plus listed below the EQ8 libraries. Open them to see the BlockBase+ blocks!
If you do not see them listed there, click the Link Library button at the bottom of the Library window, then choose Auto Add.
What else should I test?
Windows users, the only change in this Update is the ability to to link the BlockBase+ files to your EQ8 Block Library. Everything else is identical to your previous EQ8 version.
Mac users, you also can link your BlockBase+ blocks to your EQ8 Library, but there are also compatibility fixes for Big Sur. If you own Big Sur and have had issues printing, please run some tests to be sure your previous Big Sur-related issues have been cleared up.
If you own a Mac computer with the M1 processor, you may still see performance issues with EQ8. You could notice a lag when performing some open/save functions (opening projects, adding to Sketchbook, etc.). We hope to address these issues once Apple releases more updates for the M1 chip and Rosetta. If you do not experience any lags or slow downs, please let us know!
How do I report issues?
Just like in BlockBase+, we prefer that you use the Report a Bug feature from the menu within EQ8. Click Help > Report a Bug.
What else should I know?
This is just a beta version and not available yet to the public. Please let us know either way if this EQ8 Update works for you. We hope to release this to the public next week, pending any findings.
If you have problems with the Beta version of EQ8, you can always go back to your EQ Account and download the previous version of EQ8 until we can address the issue.
