Dear Farm Friends We certainly had a wonderful October. Did you ever see such gorgeous foliage? It was beyond beautiful, and we hope you had a chance to see some of it during a visit to Flamig Farm or other outing.
And now we have November with the Thanksgiving Holiday. As you probably know It was 200 years between the Pilgrims celebrating with Native Americans and 1865 when President Abraham Lincoln named it a national holiday. And here is a fun fact you probably don't know: In 1953, some frozen turkeys were taking up space in 10 refrigerated train cars when a company salesman suggested preparing and packaging the turkey with sides in compartmentalized aluminum trays. Swanson sold 5,000 TV dinners in that first year. The following year, 1954, they sold 10 million!
