Subject: Instagram has made you fragile

"If you ever have to choose between status or substance, choose substance."
Peter Thiel said that.

He was the founder of PayPal, first investor in Facebook and he's a Billionaire.

What I'm saying is, he's a smart guy and that quote had me contemplating today.

"Am I growing my online business in a way that I am focusing on status or substance?"

And to some degree I noticed I have been holding myself back because I am chasing status.

We all do it.

We want our friends to think we're doing great.

We want to show that girl we had a crush on back in school that we are the shyt now and they missed out on a great guy.

Now don't get me wrong those things can feel cool but they're shallow and useless in the grand scheme of things.

What's the real upside?

Let me help you out.

Fook all mate!

It's useless ego stroking for our fragile sensibilities.

Everyone is doing it, take a look at Instagram.

People spend hours taking selfie's or food pics at a restaurant for likes and follows.

News flash!!

You can't cash in likes at the bank.

Even if you're not on Insta, if you think hard enough chances are you posture in some other way.

Have you ever made your job title sound super amazing when it's a lame ass, boring job you actually hate?

You want to make it sound super fancy so you look more successful than you actually are.

I don't know where I was going with this email. It's just a rant on my pondering's after reading Peter's quote.

I bet if you think hard enough you could pull some value out of it.
Anyway on to bizness.
