This internet bizness journey has taken me on a wild ride.
From working with convicted criminals, dinners with millionaires to breakfasts with a hippy.
Today I want to tell you about the hippy.
I first met him at a private event a few years back. It was a meet up of online bizness owners so we could network and share ideas.
That was what they told their wives anyway. It was actually an excuse for about 15-20 of us to get pissed up (that’s drunk if you’re not from the UK).
When the drinks get flowing that's when the real secrets came out and I learned a lot at these meet-ups.
One morning after a particularly heavy night I was sat to the left of a 6 foot 4 bearded Yorkshire man at breakfast.
He went by the name of the Hippy Marketer. He was all about freedom, working as few hours as possible while maximizing profits.
So he could spend his day doing whatever he wants. Whether that's spending time with his wife, 2 kids, or rearing chickens.
I loved his approach to bizness.
We recently re-connected and he has actually streamlined his business even more and I LOVE IT.
He makes six figures a year only working 3 hours a day, Monday - Wednesday.
I was gobsmacked!
What an absolute legend.
He told me exactly how he does it and my first reaction was
“but if you do a couple more things like this, that, this and that, chances are you'll double even triple your earnings”
His response…
“Yeah I know, but that would mean more work and more complexity. I don’t do this for the munney I do this for the freedom”
I can’t argue with that.
He earns more than a neuroscientist, working less than a part-time florist’s assistant.
His rigorous workday is from 7 am-10 am. Completes 3 very simple tasks (if you can read this email you can do it too) and he's done for the day.
Free to do whatever else he wants to do. Whether that's learning a new skill, going boating, or taking his wife out for the day, anything he wants.
After our convo I went about restructuring my workday and business to run similar to his and it was the best decision ever.
