Hey there,

Today is Sunday, and while I'm surfing
around The Strait Times Online Newspaper
to read some of the news which I had missed
out during the past week.

You know what I saw?

"Singapore Budget 2015: WP calls for CPF
monthly payouts to start at age 60."

Click on 'Display Images Below' to see picture
Full story here: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/singapore-budget-2015-wp-calls-cpf-monthly-payouts-start

Do you know that in Singapore, the CPF
payout eligibility age is now 64 to
start receiving monthly annuity payouts
and the age will raise to 65 from 2018
onwards.

Now many people are fighting to lower
the eligibility age to 60 year old.

Any thoughts about this issue happening
right now in Singapore?

Let's analyse.

Let's imagine a scenario: At the age of
40 years old, you are still working in
your current job.

What is the chance for you to stay in
a job to earn a living when foreign
talents are coming to Singapore to
work and they can do what you do and
at a much cheaper salary?

Let's not talk about foreign talents...

How about the new graduates (degree holders,
now when you throw a stone, you can
hit 1 degree holder) ?

Although they are not as experience as
you are, but are much cheaper to employ,
learn much faster than you since they
are younger and you are at the age of 40.

Who do you think your employer will
choose?

(If at the point when you are reading
this, and you are at least age 40,
I'm sure you will somehow feel threaten
or in secure when your company suddenly
employs new staff and learn under you)

Let's face it.

In any company, profits still comes first,
because this is how the company can sustain.

As long as they can save the expenses,
and things can operate as smooth as
before, the company's management will
still make the decision base of the
profits.

What if you are at age 40, are you able
to get much lesser salary and forgo your
huge annual bonuses with your senior
rank in the company?

If yes, then good for you.

But what if you don't feel it's fair?

What can you do?

I would say... you can do nothing if
the company is going to sack you or
give you a massive pay cut.

Unless... you quit and look for another
company to work with.

Since you are at the age of 40 years old,
what is the chances of getting employed as
compared to those newly graduates and
foreign talents who willing to work
longer hours, work faster and getting
lesser pay?

And since the CPF payout eligibility is
increasing to age 65 from year 2018
onwards.

From age 40 to 65, this is a 25 years gap.

What if at the age of 40, you are jobless,
and there is no stable income coming in
from age 40 onwards, and within 25 years
long, are you able to support yourself?

If you argue that your children will
support you when you are old.

Sorry to disappoint you.

They are unlikely.

Why?

At the rate of increasing inflation in
Singapore, everything is getting more
expensive, do you think your children
is able to support you in another 10 more
years?

What if they have children themselves?

Does your son or daughter have the ability
to support you if they are struggling
themselves paying their own children's
school fees, school book, buying milk
powder, and daily necessity for their
family.

So the question is...

Are you ready to face this upcoming
HUGE PROBLEM?

of income, just in case this thing really
happen to you?
