GROOVIN' 18-PIECE BIG BAND "THE OTHER ORCHESTRA"

Celebrate summer and groove with the 18 Piece Big Band “The Other Orchestra” on the patio at LaZingara Restaurant. They are feisty, fun, and funky and they have been rocking the house, playing music from Steely Dan, Tower of Power, Frank Zappa, and many other great modern composers and arrangers since March 2011. Enjoy a tantalizing mix of jazz standards, fusion favorites, and quality rock tunes.

This event celebrates opening night of the 2023 Greenwich Jazz Festival with world class performances, a beautiful setting, and delicious food. All proceeds benefit this summer's BackCountry Jazz Artistic and Education Programs, including BCJazz Music Camp in Bridgeport.
A favorite traditional community event, this tribute to Children’s Librarian, Susan Ei on Pequot Library’s one-of-a-kind Great Lawn featurees hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers on the grill, The Merwin Mountain Band on music, plus lawn games galore and s’mores around the campfire. Come for any part of the evening, or pitch your tent and camp all night. Remember to bring a pillow for the Big Pillow Fight!
Enjoy free admission all day at the Museum and the 1750 Ogden House. Join a tour to see how people lived in the 1700s, stroll through the historic Dooryard Garden maintained by the Fairfield Garden Club, and experience a living history demonstration, make your own posy with fresh flowers, create a whirligig toy to take home and explore the pollinator garden at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Light refreshments will be served.
Soak up everything the Philip Johnson Glass House campus has to offer plus enjoy a seasonally inspired picnic lunch by Elm, special performances by Company SBB // Stefanie Batten Bland, cocktails on the lawn by Hennessy Paradis, and vibe to DJ sets by Alexandra Richards. In between picnicking, explore and lounge on Design Within Reach furniture and view a curated auction of art.
Help create a Blau House & Gardens Future by enjoying a packed day with a range of family activities including a Planting Ceremony, Garden Tours, Gentle Yoga with Millie, Children's Book Readings and Signings of “The Frog Who Wanted to See the Sea,” by author/illustrator Guy Billout and “Pinkalicious: Fairy House” by author and illustrator Victoria Kann. Parking at Coleytown Elementary School with shuttle to Gardens.
Enjoy a picnic on the hill, then take part in a family craft before heading off on a wondrous woodland walk through the enchanted forest! Join "Firefly" the fairy and friends for an adventure through the paths of Waveny Park. Say hello to the toads and busy bugs, discover characters like hobgoblins and dragons as life begins to bloom, sprout and reach closer to the sun.
