"THE SLAVES OF CENTRAL FAIRFIELD COUNTY" NEWTOWN AUTHOR READING SERIES WITH BEN CRUSON

Town historian Ben Cruson presents a reading and discussion of his father's book, “The Slaves of Central Fairfield County” that reveals the harsh reality of slavery in the North that existed alongside anti-slavery activity in 18th-19th century Connecticut.
Come to a lively 'Friends Author Series' discussion with the bestselling author of the thriller “The Collector.” This is the latest book in Silva’s blockbuster series about Gabriel Allon, an art restorer and sometime Israeli secret agent, who undertakes a search for a stolen Vermeer masterpiece and uncovers a conspiracy that could bring the world to the brink of nuclear devastation. Moderated by CNN Special Correspondent Jamie Gangel.
Come and enjoy some great music by local talent! This week’s concert features Captain Obvious, a well-known local all-star cover band, featuring Wilton's Andy Schlesinger, John Taylor, Dan Berg, Mike Oliver and Dave Valle. These Wilton ‘Rocks for Food’ favorites will play a set of widely recognizable songs designed to have you singing along and dancing. Free and open to the public, with snacks and refreshments too!
It's an in-person discussion with a social media influencer known for her online work at ‘Not Your Momma’s History.’ McKnight brings to light the histories of enslaved Africans - from whom she is descended, as well as those of the generations that followed. She is the Living History Coordinator at Dimenna Children’s Museum, NY Historical Society.

Pack a picnic, grab a lawn chair or blanket and some friends for a delightful evening. The latest "Under the Arches Summer Music Series" features Norwalk Symphony’s Assistant Concertmaster Emanouil Mananlov performing on the violin with the violin with an accompanying cello.
Playing the roots of American Rock ‘n Roll influenced by the likes of Fats Domino, The Funky Meters, Alan Toussaint, Delbert McClinton, and the legendary Chuck Berry. Doors open at 5:00pm for history, crafts and fun. Bring your own picnic dinner, lawn chair, blanket and enjoy the show!
