Lynda James Carroll has found inspirations in the divisions across our nation & create alternative visual solutions. She’s created photographic images where the observer perceives the same situation with the same stimuli in multiple ways that is ironically similar to our current political climate. These photographic puzzles, which are being exhibited as a group for the first time ever, are formally known as bistable images.
Tour of Little Liberia Exhibition with Maisa Tisdale

Did you know that part of Bridgeport was once called Little Liberia? Learn about this seafaring community of free people of color established in the 1800s. From a luxurious resort hotel for wealthy Blacks to the city’s first free lending library, Little Liberia was a prosperous and thriving community.
This exhibition invites viewers to explore the power of visual storytelling. Each work on display has an accompanying statement from the artist, providing context and insights into understanding the artist’s intentions and the underlying narratives. The exhibit will be on view from February 28 - April 4, 2024.

This exhibition represents the forefront of contemporary printmaking from emerging to established artists. This reception is especially exciting because it is also a celebration of the inaugural residency exchange with Dresden, Germany.
