The latest in this Music for Youth series that offers the best young, emerging artists a stage to showcase their talents is 18-year-old Cameron Chase, who graduated this year from the Pre-College Program at Juilliard and for 2 years was the concertmaster of the Principal Orchestra of the Norwalk Youth Symphony. Growing up in Jackson, Tennessee, Brandon Lay's songs were all about his teenage life. Now signed with EMI Records Nashville, his debut single "Speakers, Bleachers and Preachers” says it all. With his new album finished, he’s taking the songs on the road, has already also opened for artists like Dierks Bentley and Old Dominion, and is playing fairs and festivals around the country. More...
Annual Mark Twain Library Book Fair

Aug. 31 - Sept 3
Redding Community Center

This is the oldest – and one of the largest – book fairs in New England. The library was started by Mark Twain, who moved to Redding in 1907, with a thousand volumes from his own library. His daughter Clara donated more books for sale after his death, and today the Book Fair is still one of the Library’s principal fundraisers. More...

The Glass House
New Canaan

This installation brings together two commissioned, site-responsive, audio collages, one in the Philip Johnson Glass House and one in the Sculpture Gallery, and a series of new works on paper in the Painting Gallery. Jones will also produce a limited edition 45RPM vinyl record containing the sound works from both buildings (45s were first introduced in 1949, the same year the Glass House was built). More...
