| Erin Dolan Memory Palace
Fri. Nov. 3, 6pm Darien Library Opening Reception
Cultural Alliance artist member Erin Dolan has her solo show, Memory Palace on view at the Darien Library through Dec. 11. Erin comments that a "memory palace" is a mental space where certain images store and release memories and emotions from the past. Here she shows work that brings together images of specific locations where she has lived and depicted through an abstracted lens of New York City, New Mexico, Hawaii and Coastal Connecticut. (More)

The Pillow Concerts is a series of short, free, concerts for all the family, traditionally in the Suzuki Music School of Westport's Blake Recital Room. Children are encouraged to bring a pillow and sit close to the performers! In From Brazil to Catalonia, pianist Claudio Suzin Rodriguez performs works by Villa-Lobos, Guarnieri, Guastavino, Nazareth, Gershwin, Calvo, Mompou, and Montsalvatge. The American Artisan Show will kick off with a festive Preview and Auction, giving guests the first opportunity to browse and buy while enjoying fine hors d’oeuvres provided by the Schoolhouse Restaurant at Cannondale in Wilton. The Silent Auction will feature wonderful pieces contributed by the artisans and other generous friends. This is the Historical Society's biggest fundraiser of the year. (More)
