Thomas Phifer + Paul Goldberger
Thurs. June 15 Philip Johnson Glass House
Architect Thomas Phifer will discuss his work and current projects, including a new museum for the Glenstone Foundation in Maryland and the restoration of Philip Johnson’s thesis house at Harvard University, with Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Paul Goldberger. This program includes a self-guided tour of the site and a light reception. (More)

| | Ciclismo Classico: Bike Travel Film Festival
Fri. June 16 Palace Danbury Theatre
This year's festival features 7 fantastic films including 48 Hairpin Bends By Night, the incredible story of 77-year-old Giuliano Calore, an avid cyclist whose goal is to ride the legendary Monte Stelvio Pass in the Italian Alps with its 48 hairpin turns. Now in it’s 8th year, the Festival is the ONLY one in the USA to feature films specifically about two-wheeled travel. (More) |

Maritime Aquarium At Norwalk Two new exhibits open this Friday: an newly expanded exhibit of Jellies – one of the most popular animals in The Maritime Aquarium for more than 20 years; and Flamingos specifically Chilean Flamingos, standing (often, on one leg) through Labor Day in the aviary on the Aquarium’s riverfront courtyard. Unexpected Juxtapositions: Solo Show by Rex Prescott Walden
Sat. June 17 Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery
A solo exhibition by this assemblage artist, whose neat, architectural work is defined by precision and intention. In his found-object collages, the artist intends to define aspects of time as related to journey through space. In this exhibition, Walden's vision is carried forth in smaller, shadowboxed works that incorporate all the elements of his larger pieces. (More)
