Following the rapturous response to his last opera, The Tempest, the Met presents the American premiere of Thomas Adès’s The Exterminating Angel, inspired by the classic Buñuel film, a surreal fantasy about a dinner party from which the guests can not escape. Music by Thomas Adès, libretto by Tom Cairns who also directs, based on the screenplay by Luis Buñuel and Luis Alcoriza. (More)

Opening Reception

Dressed for the holidays, the Wilton Historical Society’s historic 18th- and 19th-century buildings are transformed into a train-lovers delight with many different train layouts winding through tiny towns with many kinds of buildings, tunnels and two working Ferris Wheels! The interactive display enchants visitors of all ages with lots of buttons to push and knowledgeable “train engineers” on hand to “talk trains.” Through Jan. 15. (More)

Get to see the differences between decorative art, collectible art, investment art, prints, and how to buy each.  A painter herself, Liz Tardif is a curator for the Fairfield Library's Kershner Gallery, an art advisor and founder of Cherry Street Art, a resource for art buyers and collectors.
