Ridgefield Independent Film Festival presents  Grammy and Emmy-winning Director Thom Zimny, who will live-edit four, 20-minute segments of his two-part, four-hour film, that premiered April 14 on HBO. He'll then screen them and give commentary and analysis. The movie focuses on Elvis' journey from his childhood through the final 1976 Jungle Room recording sessions. More...

Admission to the film is free with a contribution to The Memory Box Project, created to provide families with a designed keepsake box for the memories of their lost loved one. The mission is to give a box to every family that has lost a loved one, KIA, in the wars of Iraq or Afghanistan. More...

In this two-person exhibition, Stamford artist, Heidi Lewis Coleman, presents works from her Dreamscape Series, in which she uses acrylic and cut Thai Kozo paper, incorporating embedded bits of bark, leaves, petals and stems, that allows her to infuse "what I’ve learned about color, symmetry and composition into artwork that is organic, less formally designed and more expressive.” Tina Puckett, a self-taught artist who has been weaving since 1981, has created her own weaving technique, which she calls “Dimensional Weaving,” in which she lays down layer upon layer of reeds of different colors to produce multi-hued, richly-textured, highly dimensional woven sculpture. More...

Peterson, in which Stephanie, and other choreographers, have created dances based on poems by Laurel Peterson, other area poets, as well as by writers as diverse as Maya Angelou, Eminem, Shel Silverstein, and Edgar Allan Poe.
