Hi Friend,
Here we are in 2019 already!
The empty champagne bottles have been cleared away and after the delicious laziness of New Years Day each of us should be thinking about the writing goals we want to achieve over the next 12 months.
If you've been struggling with an epic Work In Progress that you can never seem to get finished (and that incudes me...), then consider this...
Short...Story...Competitions
Short stories are a fantastic way for new writers to avoid the overwhelm of attempting to write an entire novel.
Better still, if you decide to enter a short story competition (of which there are many each year), you create a deadline for yourself and could be in the running for some real cash prizes.
Don't take my word for it. Award winning author Julia Prendergast (who I spoke to on my podcast) is using these exact strategies.
There's also some links to some great short story competitions you can get enter this year.
So that's it. Happy New Year! Get into it ;)
Yours in writing
