A message from TR@TC... In education, the month of September is traditionally about getting to know your students and building a strong classroom community. Given the trauma endured by the members of our school communities, over the past 6 months, investing time in creating connections has become crucial to the success of both students and teachers. We hope that as you begin to get more clarity around the make-up of your classrooms and the intricacies of your teaching schedules, that you feel supported by the resources and learning opportunities we continue to share with you. In the meantime, if you are ready to make the shift, we invite you to begin considering what collaboration could look like in both socially distanced and virtual classroom spaces, particularly, how you can use technology to foster connections between the two. Below are a few ideas to help you get started: Consider having remote learners partner with in-person learners through collaborative online projects Set up parlays for students to discuss big ideas within a unit of study Use interactive powerpoints or Jam Boards to enable students to collaborate during in-person sessions
Other things to consider: In closing, we continue to keep you in our thoughts and are working diligently to provide you with resources that are reflective of the needs many of you have communicated. As always, please let us know if there is anything else we can do to continue making this newsletter more supportive of your practice. With gratitude for all you do, Yours in appreciation, Julissa Diloné TR@TC Induction |
