TICKETS GOING FAST FOR "DRIVERX" SCREENING IN HOUSTON!
Dear DriverXers,
I mentioned before that DriverX is playing in my hometown, and my hometown has been receptive. The daily newspaper, the Houston Chronicle, did a story about me bringing the film to Houston that ran online yesterday and is coming out in print today in the Preview section. And another local publication, Buzz Magazine, interviewed me for a story that is coming out next week. |
| | AND, I'm going to be on local TV next week plugging the film, on KPRC-TV's (NBC affiliate) Houston Life! If you're in Houston and you want to see me not try to embarrass myself in front of Courtney and Derrick, I'll be on Channel 2 sometime between 1pm and 2pm Wednesday, Feb 6th.
And that isn't going to be easy. They asked me to send them all kinds of incriminating materials, like childhood photos and even the first films I made when I was a wee filmmaker in high school, like the epic Tarzan, where I ran through Buffalo Bayou in a loin cloth, and the now-classic literary drama about Dante's Inferno, Dante, Go To Hell. With any luck, we'll actually get around to talking about DriverX!

We're doing a pre-screening mixer, a Q&A immediately following with Patrick Fabian and myself, and then we're heading over to nearby Birraporetti's for a catered afterparty! And maybe we'll even show Tarzan before the show! (No, we will not!).

| DRIVERX ROLLING UP TO NEW ORLEANS TODAY!
DriverX continues it's theatrical tour. Next stop, New Orleans beginning today, where it will play for a week (at least) at Chalmette Movies in Jefferson Parish. If you know anyone in or around NOLA, please encourage them to check out the movie.
IFC will likely get the movie in some other theaters and I hope to book some single-night screenings in others. Make sure you're following us on social media to get the scoop!
And of course, if you haven't seen the movie yet and don't think it will be coming your way to a theater, it's available now on all your favorite internet VOD platforms and through all the cableTV providers.
And one other fun thing I'll share with you. There was a lot of talk this year at Slamdance about it being their 25th anniversary. Much was made about how Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Dunkirk--shit, you know who Chris Nolan is!), premiered his first feature Following there 20 years ago. Well, I worked with Chris on Following and took this picture of him and his future wife and producing partner, Emma (far left), on Main St. in Park City, 20 years ago. They were just kids! |
