Dear DriverXers,
I'm back from another extended radio silence, again with big news. (And just so you know, that other project, the one I'm sneaking around with, is almost finished. I'll be spending all my time with DriverX very soon!).
We had terrific success at the many festivals we visited over the past few months and even picked up another award at the last one--Jury Award for Best Drama Feature from the fabulous Woods Hole Film Festival in Cape Cod. Had so much fun there. First of all, it's lovely. Second, the people of Woods Hole are the nicest people (I mean, why wouldn't they be, surrounded by all that beauty and fried seafood). Third, I got to hang out with some super-great, talented filmmakers, including one of my buddies from the Phoenix Film Festival--Laura Somers, whose terrific narrative feature Rich Kids was shot in my hometown of Houston, TX--and one of DriverX's Kickstarter backers--Steve Wystrach--whose engaging documentary Manry At Sea is a must-see for any sailing enthusiast, (or really, any documentary film lover). Woods Hole has been around for 27 years and attracts wonderful films and enthusiastic audiences. Fourth, my sister Shelley (aka one of DriverX's biggest investors) came up with my niece Jordan and we had fun chugging around Cape Code and Martha's Vineyard.
And we're not quite done with film festivals. DriverX will be playing at the Diamond In The Rough Film Festival in Milpitas, CA--our 14th film festival--this Saturday night, so if you're in the Bay Area, come on by. Unfortunately, we won't be there for this one (did I mention I'm finishing another project??), but it should be a lot of fun, especially for aspiring filmmakers.

Diamond In The Rough Film Festival Screening of DriverX Saturday, Aug. 18 • 8:00pm The Cinema Exchange 1759 South Main Street, Suite 128, Milpitas, CA 95035 And if you'd like to learn more about the making of the film, I did a short interview with Tim Sika, film critic and President of the San Francisco Film Critics Circle for his film podcast Celluloid Dreams. We had fun discussing the genesis of the project, how we financed it, working with Patrick Fabian, etc. |

| |
And if you want to get ahead of the curve and show everyone how you discovered DriverX before the crowd, you can review it on IMDB, too! So helpful to us!

And of course, please FOLLOW us on Social Media. We're going to be ramping up our social efforts very soon and posting fun stuff, including more videos and pics from in front of and behind the camera. Our handle on all the platforms is @DriverXMovie and you can find us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
And soon enough I will be back to editing and posting more videos from the series we call "Patrick Fabian Talks About...", where Patrick discusses DriverX, Better Call Saul, The Last Exorcism, and more. I've got several of these posted to our YouTube channel and many, many more to come. Subscribe to our Channel and you'll know exactly when a new video is published.
