Dear DriverXers,
So much news to report, but first...an apology. I started working on a new show (I feel like I'm cheating on "DriverX") and got buried with work, and I'm sorry it's taken so long to give you the latest update. And there's SO MUCH going on!
First, if you didn't already hear (and if you're not following us on social media, you probably didn't), we won our first award!! We won a special Jury Award at the Durango Film Festival last month for Narrative Feature Filmmaking. Patrick and I had a great time at the festival, meeting so many awesome folks--filmmakers and locals alike. And my quick pitch for Durango, Colorado--Go! It's a beautiful, historic town that's an easy flight from Denver and close to skiing and hiking, but not overrun with crowds. And if Aspen and Vail are too expensive for you, you'll love Durango--it's very affordable. Great restaurants and shops. Need I say more??

I JUST SIGNED UP ON THE MAILING LIST. NOW WHAT?
It's so great to have you join us and be a part of our Team! Many of you just signed up from the Durango Film Festival. One thing I like to ask all the people who've seen the film is to help us get more exposure. One very powerful, but easy way to do that is to RATE the film on IMDB. As we get ready to hit all these festivals, we know that many fest-goers will be making their film choices by checking IMDB and seeing what the rating is there, (maybe a few of you did that, too). It's important to couple that high rating with a high number of votes to make it look legit.
It takes about 2 seconds to rate a film on IMDB. Just click the button below and then click the star that says "Rate This" (to the right of the Title). If you're not logged into IMDB, it will ask you to log in first, and if you don't already have an IMDB account, it will ask you to create one, which takes about 5 seconds and is free. Of course, I want you to be honest with your rating, but if you're going to go to all the trouble to rate the film, please consider rating it highly, (just sayin'...)! |
| |
Now, if you really want to help us out, and you yearn to express yourself, you might want to REVIEW the film on IMDB. This takes about 2-5 minutes, depending on how much and how quickly you write. To review the film, log into IMDB, rate it first (let's get as many ratings as we can), then click the button below and give it your best Roger Ebert or Pauline Kael. All of this, trust me, is vitally important for a little indie like ours, and of course, MOST APPRECIATED!

Lastly, you can FOLLOW us on Social Media and post something positive about the movie. If you're so inclined to do that, please make sure to include our handle in your post. For Twitter and Instagram, that would be @DriverXMovie . We're also on Facebook, where once you 'Like' our page, you can imbed the link in your post by typing '@DriverX'. Actually just following us on our three social media platforms makes a big difference to potential distributors, since they not only judge you by the quality of your film, but also by your social status, (just like high school...) And we love to engage with our fans on social media. We'll be posting our adventures on the road and we want to share that with you.
When I'm done with this job, I'm going to be posting more videos from the series we call "Patrick Fabian Talks About...", where Patrick discusses DriverX, Better Call Saul, The Last Exorcism, and more. I have over 20 of these videos edited so far (and many more left to cut) and will be releasing them regularly over the coming weeks. You can check out our YouTube page (and subscribe) and see the several I've posted already.

| These are fun, 1-2 minute videos where Patrick tells stories about the making of these projects and the building of his career. I'm releasing these on our Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channels, so if you're not following us or subscribed to one (or all) of those, please click the buttons below and join us! And any help you can give sharing these videos with your followers and friends will help us build our social media presence.
