Have you ever noticed when you meet or hang out with people who are grounded, it just feels good being around them. There is just some kind of energy or magnetism that makes you want to stay in their presence and remain connected to them. Their energy helps to calm and balance yours. It’s as though you feel ‘plugged back in’ to a kind of force that makes you feel good, more centered, and alive.
Then, when you part ways with these people, the effect can last awhile, but eventually, there always seems to be a return to a less desirable state that is often accompanied by feelings of being imbalanced, off center, and out of tune. You may also feel some angst, worry, being unsettled, or even sad, or disconnected.
The solution is simple: Just keep hanging out with these people and all will be well! Yes, but not always practical though.
However, what if you could hang out with someone on a regular basis that could lift your spirit, boost your mood, balance and center you, and improve your overall health and well-being? What if you didn’t even have to travel very far to do this? What if when you are traveling, this special person could still be with you as well?
Wouldn’t that be an amazing blessing?
YES, IT WOULD!
AND... it IS possible!
So, who is this special someone?
It’s ‘Mother Earth’ of course!
The concept called ‘grounding’ or ‘earthing’ has become very popularized over the past decade, but it’s not a new concept overall. Our ancestors new the wisdom of literally connecting to the earth (bare skin on bare earth). This wisdom was lost over time, and definitely became much worse in the 1960’s when people started wearing rubber soled shoes that insulated their feet from the very planet they live on. Interesting enough, that is also the same time that many inflammatory related health conditions started to significantly rise (such as chronic arthritis and heart disease. Presently, we have a whole slew of chronic inflammatory health conditions that could be stemming partially from being ungrounded).
The simplest way to ground yourself is just go barefoot on the Earth for awhile. Yes, take off your shoes and socks and walk around your yard (if you don’t spray your lawn with pesticides). You can also sit, stand, or lay on the earth with bare skin touching the ground.
Bottom line: An electrical system has to be ‘grounded correctly’ in order to work correctly. The human body is no different. We are also electrical (our: tissues, fluids, cells, and even consciousness) — and we must also be grounded to operate safely and efficiently.
How much and how often should you ‘ground’ or ‘earth’ yourself?
As much as possible!
However, it’s amazing what just even a few minutes can do. A minimum would be at least 10-20 minutes a day. 30-60 minutes would be much better though. Ideally, you would want to spend more time grounding on a daily basis (up to several hours), especially if you have spent many days, weeks, months, and years not being grounded.
Finding the time could mean just ‘fitting it into’ your day. For example: eating outside, working outside, exercising and playing outside — and doing so with bare feet or bare skin touching the bare earth.
There are commercial products on the market available (such as grounding mats, pads, sheets, and stickers) that seem to provide some people with positive results. However, the best technology to use when possible is ‘Mother Earth’ herself. The whole point is to be ‘plugged into the Earth’, not a wall socket.
Grounding (earthing) has many benefits including: decreasing pain and inflammation; improving circulation and heart function; improving mood and brain function; improving healing responses from injuries or illnesses; improving energy levels; improving hormone balance; improving sleep; and much more.
Best part — there is NO financial cost (except if you don’t do it!)
Remember: Knowledge is knowing; wisdom is doing.
Knowing about grounding (earthing) is not enough, you actually have to do it for it to work in your life.
