Hi Friend,
In the last couple of weeks I think I’ve gotten an email about COVID-19 from every company I’ve ever bought something from.
Naturally, I started wondering if there was anything we could do to help with the situation.
Because some of you have asked, I’d like to clear something up first.
We’re not one of the many bands facing financial hardship due to cancelled tours and festivals this year. We toured our asses off in 2019 and had already decided that in 2020, we'd mostly be hitting the studio and catching up at our day jobs. (Barring someone making us an offer we couldn’t refuse - but that’s obviously not happening now!) So other than our day jobs taking a hit - like everyone else’s - we’re good. And recording is moving ahead well, despite everything else that’s going on.
So since we’re not affected by it - we want to help the fans who are, and others in the scene who are hurting.
And if times are rough and you need to make that $0, we’re glad to give you the freebie. Seriously. No need to feel guilty about it at all, we appreciate you.
For anyone who wants to pay something - awesome. We’ll take all the money that’s raised and split it between these two causes:
CANCEL COUNCIL: A campaign to support musicians who have sustained verifiable financial loss as a direct result of prior confirmed engagements due to the current world health crisis.
FALLOUT RVA: Very cool venue in Richmond, Virginia that is going through a tough time right now with the quarantine. Touring is difficult and they were good to us, and are good to artists in general. When the dust settles, they’re definitely worth a visit if you’re in Richmond.
So if you’re temporarily stressed while the world tries to figure out what’s going on, grab a free download this weekend of as much of our music as you like to help you get through.
And if you’re feeling secure enough, send us a few bucks for the downloads and we’ll pay 100% of it forward to the artists who are hurting, and to a venue that was awesome to us when we needed it.
Stay safe, stay quarantined. And stay tuned - I'll be putting out regular DJ sets just for fun to give you something to listen to, maybe even some livestreams. Details TBA.
Take good care of those you love.
