Today's topic: Ireland's Jubilee Re-Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
| Divine Mercy Prayer Meeting & Holy Hour for Our Nations Starts Soon Guest Speaker and Topic Today | | | On Passion Sunday, March 30, 1873, an event of decisive importance marked the religious history of Ireland: the bishops of Ireland solemnly consecrated the Irish nation to the Sacred Heart. Other countries had already consecrated themselves diocese by diocese, but Ireland was the first to do so as a nation. Confraternities of the Sacred Heart spread throughout the country until the 1960s when the devotion declined. The Sacred Heart Crusade commenced with the papal blessing of four pilgrim Sacred Heart Statues on January 8, 2025, in Rome. The pilgrim statues will travel to each of Ireland's four provinces and then to Ireland's International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine in Knock for the celebration of Holy Mass in the Basilica and the Re-Consecration of Ireland to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 22, 2025. They will continue to visit dioceses and parishes thereafter during 2025. |
