Prayer Meeting & Holy Hour of Adoration and Prayer for Our Nation Starts Soon

Fr. John Larson, MIC

In his teens, Fr. John moved away from his faith somewhat but was still curious about the Bible and philosophy. In 1990, at the age of 19, he was listening to Christian rock music and decided to commit his life to Christ.

In mid-1992, he began to sense a call to the priesthood. Around the same time, his parents sent him a videotape of that year's EWTN telecast of Mercy Sunday at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

On the telecast, Fr. Larry Dunn, MIC, the Vocation Director at that time, invited young men to consider a vocation as a Marian priest or brother. It struck him that maybe he was being called to join the Marians.

After ten years of preparation and study, Fr. John was ordained to the priesthood on Feb. 11, 2006 — the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, at the National Shrine of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Currently, Fr. John serves as parochial vicar of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii and St. Peter Catholic Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Jesus to St. Faustina:

Make a daily hour of adoration for nine days. During this adoration try to unite yourself in prayer with My Mother. Pray with all your heart in union with Mary . . .

I was to make this novena for the intention of my Motherland.

(Diary of St. Faustina, 32, 33)
