Vijay was ordained to the priesthood on February 20, 2014, for the diocese of Kurnool, India. Since January 2023, he has served as a missionary priest for a parish in Cambridge, England. In 2017, Father first received the Diary of St. Faustina from the Carmelite nuns at his parish and began to read it. So moved by the message, Fr. Amruth worked on translating the book into Telugu, his native dialect spoken by 100 million souls, for four years. While searching the internet for Divine Mercy groups in 2020, Father happened to run across the Divine Mercy for America online prayer meeting and holy hour. He has joined frequently to share his work and reflections and pray with the group. The translated Diary was published and released in 2022, just before Easter. The bishops and every priest in three dioceses received a copy of the book with great enthusiasm. A Divine Mercy for India initiative modeled after the Divine Mercy for America Action Plan is now underway. |
