Dear Friend,

Many years ago we had the good fortune to travel to Scotland on a Divine Mercy mission. We were blessed to meet Tommy and Allan Canning, who were devoted to inspiring and catechizing young and old through Tommy's sacred art.

A number of Tommy's paintings incorporated well into our presentations over the years. We are excited to have him join us all the way from Scotland to bring us up to date on his career and share his talent with us.

The Art of Divine Mercy

On his first trip to Rome as a 19-year-old native Scot, Tommy Canning experienced awe and wonder at the beautiful artistic masterpieces and architecture on display and the faith that inspired it.

As he slowly began to take more seriously his Catholic faith and discovered devotion to the Divine Mercy, his direction regarding an art career changed. The Lord's instruction to St. Faustina to "Paint a picture" struck Tommy as a personal request to use his artistic talent to create sacred art, and that is what he has done and continues to do.

Tommy prefers to let his painting speak for him quietly, but he says, "sometimes sharing a few thoughts on how Our Lord can work through us with our gifts may be of use to a listener somewhere."
