Dear Friend,
Here is some more "food for thought" for Fast Friday, when it seems so much of our free will is under siege. It has to do with where St. Faustina wrote that she found nourishment.
As we have shared in the past, fasting isn't intended to starve us. In fact, by fasting with proper disposition and prudence, we can actually nourish ourselves both physically and spiritually. Therefore, when we stumbled across a passage in the Diary of St. Faustina yesterday in which she mentioned her source of nourishment, we took note and were prompted to search the Diary to see what else she said about "nourishment."
Once again, in the School of St. Faustina, we found something profound. All six passages (1356, 667, 889, 952, 1003, 1145) basically stated the same thing. And what was that? Well, the short answer is found in Diary passage 889: "I nourish myself on the will of God. It is my food."
No doubt, this food can sometimes be tough to swallow. In passage 952, posted here below, Saint Faustina describes well how many of us may feel about following God's will at this time. But, please pay close attention to the last line and savor it, for it is sure to not only help us get through these difficult times but to get through them in peace. Ahhh!
Thank you, St. Faustina!. Please pray for us and our country and world. |
