Happy Easter!


That's right. Until Pentecost this weekend it is still the Easter Season.


How marvelous to ponder the joy of this season and how the journey through Lent to Easter Sunday, Divine Mercy Sunday, and Pentecost are all wonderfully connected.



Lent to Divine Mercy Sunday

Prayers, fasting, sacrifices, and almsgiving during Lent indicate our desire and belief in the promises of Divine Mercy Sunday. Complete remission of all sin and punishment is the best gift possible. We should now have a better understanding of the significance of Lent.


Divine Mercy Sunday to Pentecost

Now we move on to Pentecost. The cleansing of our souls and hearts on the Feast of Mercy surely must make us more open to the Gifts of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, gifts we and the rest of the world desperately need in these times of darkness and confusion. Come Holy Spirit, come!


Holy Spirit Novena

Gratefully thousands are praying the Novena to the Holy Spirit with us. It began May 27th, the Friday after Ascension Thursday, and concludes this Saturday, June 4th.


Specifically, we are praying for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit which are Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Piety, and Holy Fear of the Lord. If you are not receiving the daily prayers, it is not too late to join. Send us an email at info@divinemercyforamerica.org and we'll add you to the list.

Live Holy Hour Novena for Our Nation

For the month of June and July, we are suspending the guest speaker portion of the Holy Hour Novena for Our Nation. Please see the details below for the new time the ZOOM room opens.


We are looking forward to seeing our regular prayer partners and hope to see many new faces. Don't worry if you can't make it every day of the novena. Join us when you can because the more the better and there is strength in numbers.


A Personal Request

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Robert (Bob) Sarna, Joan's father who passed away peacefully after enduring many months of severe pain and suffering. He was 86 years old and was surrounded by several family members who were praying and singing for him as he took his last breath on May 24th.


Joan was the primary caregiver of her parents for the last two years. It has been quite a journey, but the Lord blessed us with all we needed to tend to them with love and mercy thanks to the prayers of many of our DMFA members.


We are looking forward to moving on with exciting plans for the continued development of Mercy Sunday Momentum, our youth video presentations, and more. Stay tuned and keep praying.

1. The Litany of the Saints

Make a novena for your country. This novena will consist of the recitation of the Litany of the Saints.  (Jesus to St. Faustina, Diary passage 59)

Order the Divine Mercy for America Prayer Guide containing the Litany of the Saints, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and Diary quotes regarding prayer for native lands.


2. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy

I want all the sisters and wards to say the chaplet which I have taught you. They are to say it for nine days in the chapel in order to appease My Father and to entreat God’s mercy for Poland. (Diary, 714)

3. Divine Mercy Holy Hour

Another time I heard these words: Make a daily hour of adoration for nine days. During this adoration try to unite yourself in prayer with My Mother. Pray with all your heart in union with Mary, and try also during this time to make the Way of the Cross. I was to make this novena for the intention of my Motherland. (Diary, 32, 33)

4. Holy Communions

On the feast of the Assumption in 1934, the Blessed Virgin Mary told St. Faustina: My daughter, what I demand from you is prayer, prayer, and once again prayer, for the world and especially for your country. For nine days receive Holy Communion in atonement and unite yourself closely to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. During these nine days you will stand before God as an offering; always and everywhere, at all times and places, day or night, whenever you wake up, pray in the spirit. In spirit, one can always remain in prayer. (Diary, 325)
