Tomorrow, October 22, is the feast day of our beloved Pope, St. John Paul II.


In honor of the Holy Father, I thought I'd share his Sunday Angelus Address, given on March 10, 1996. The Pontiff points out how fasting is "spiritual therapy for the soul" and points us to the one we should call upon "to give us the secret of that 'spiritual fast' which sets us free from the slavery of things, strengthens our soul and makes it ever ready to meet the Lord."
