Subject: AMAZING: The Correlation between the Shroud and the Image of Divine Mercy

The reason for the big deal about the Image . .

Dear Friend,

With just a few days to go before Divine Mercy Sunday, we remind you of what Jesus said about the role of His Image of Divine Mercy in the celebration of the Feast of Mercy.

"I desire that this image be displayed in public on the first Sunday after Easter..."

Jesus, if you will, harped on this point about His image. At least six passages in St. Faustina's Diary (49, 88, 341, 414, 570, 742) about how He said it should be made available and venerated. Why might He be so insistent?

Well, here is what the Lord said about it:

Yes, the first Sunday after Easter is the Feast of Mercy, but there must also be acts of mercy, and I demand the worship of My mercy through the solemn celebration of the Feast and through the veneration of the image which is painted. By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls. It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works (742).

The point is, if we want to receive mercy, WE must be merciful. And, that is what can be the difficult part. In order to help us we look to clues in the Image. The red and pale rays represent the the blood and water Jesus poured out for us on the Cross, but also the way Jesus is present to us TODAY in the sacraments of the Church. He did not abandon us. He only wants to heal us and restore us. Here's how.

The white ray (water) represents the cleansing waters of Baptism and Confession. The red ray (blood) is for the True Presence of the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus in the Eucharist. Every time we receive Communion worthily, Jesus physically enters our bodies. The more we avail ourselves to the sacraments, the more we can become like Christ. The more we become like Christ, the more mercy poured out upon the world and sin is concurred. Tah dah!

But wait, there is more.

In order for Christ to enter into us, we must do as He did when He offered Himself on the Cross. As He died to self and accepted the will of the Father, so must we.

Now for the Music Video

This brings us to the Amazing Correlation between the Shroud of Turin and the Image of Divine Mercy.

In this music video, you will see the amazing discovery made in the early 1990s regarding the correlation between the burial cloth of Jesus, the Shroud of Turin, and the original painting of The Divine Mercy (Vilnius). It shows us what happened at the Resurrection - how Jesus went from dead and buried to alive and present, full of love and mercy to this day.

As you enjoy seeing the transformation of Christ, open your heart to the song Touch Me Lord and invite Jesus to touch your heart, your mind, your life. Ask Him to help you to die to self so that His light shines through you in all your deeds, words, and prayers of mercy.

This is what the Feast of Mercy is leading us to. May you and yours be abundantly blessed now and forever.

Happy Easter,
