Yet, that's all I ever hear from parents who don't understand what money is.

Money is a thief of dreams. When you give it to someone, especially kids, they fall back on it, and never learn how to grow into their true selves.

That's because money is a side effect of the value that people put in you.

My job as a parent is to show my kids their own worth, not gift them with it. That's because a persons worth is far more than any dollar amount.

Give them money and none of these development.

To show them their own worth, I have to push them down the hard roads - the roads that force them to dig deep to find out who they really are.

Growing up, my mom (a school teacher) was borderline abusive about my writing. She'd throw my papers back at me, my books, my pencils...whatever she could find, until I'd pen the perfect poem or story.
