| Dear Neighbors,
Yesterday, the Land Development Code (LDC) revision team released updated versions of the draft code and maps for Council to consider for second reading. The new drafts reflect the direction given by Council in December. If you recall from my last newsletter on this topic, first reading of the revised Land Development Code and maps passed 7-4, with Council Members Kitchen, Pool and Tovo joining me in opposition.
Though my staff and I are still working to review the new drafts, I wanted to share with you the updated code and maps so that you may begin your own analysis. I continue to believe this process does not provide sufficient time for much needed vetting nor for community consideration. Please note that Council is scheduled to begin deliberation for second reading on February 11th. Residents may register to testify at City Hall on any day Council is posted to take action (currently Feb. 11-13), or you can tune in to the deliberations via ATXN.
In the meantime, if you have questions or comments on the drafts or the process, please do not hesitate to contact my chief of staff, Kurt Cadena-Mitchell, at kurt.cadena-mitchell@austintexas.gov. Thank you for your continued engagement in this process.
Regards,
Alison Alter Council Member, District 10 |
