It's My Park Day

Austin Parks Foundation's Fall It’s My Park Day is right around the corner on Saturday, Nov. 4. It's My Park Day is Austin's largest city-wide volunteer day focused solely on caring for our parks. Originally a Spring-only event, It’s My Park Day has grown into such a popular and successful volunteer day that it has expanded to add a fall event as well.

Volunteers for the fall date can choose from over 80 projects across the city. Several of these opportunities will be dedicated to improving District 10 parks including Doss School Park, Great Hills Park, Mt. Bonnell at Covert Park, and Bull Creek Greenbelt. For more information about It’s My Park Day, please visit https://www.austinparks.org/volunteer/impd/
Shakespeare in Ramsey Park

I am pleased to sponsor this fall's edition of Shakespeare in Ramsey Park. Something for Nothing Theatre Company is reimagining Shakespeare’s beloved romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing under the autumn starlight. All shows are free and open to the public, and will last less than two hours. Bring a blanket or chair, pack a picnic, invite some friends, and join us for this witty love story!

Oct. 19 – Nov. 5
Thursdays - Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
Ramsey Park Pavilion
4301 Rosedale Ave

For more information, contact s4ntheater@gmail.com, or visit the Something for Nothing Facebook page.

Deep Eddy Pool Opening Delay

Deep Eddy Pool is experiencing delayed openings due to a well failure. Each evening, one side of the pool is drained and cleaned overnight. The well failure will cause the pool to fill slower than usual. The pool that is drained and cleaned will experience an approximate 3-hour delay the following morning. Staff will be on-site at the scheduled opening time and will open the delayed pool as soon as it has filled.

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department has scheduled repairs beginning on Oct. 26 and lasting for several days. At this time, the contractor does not foresee any closures while repairs are being made. We suggest that swimmers contact the pool directly each morning for updates on water conditions at (512) 472-8546.

Alternative swimming options during the delayed openings and temporary closure include Barton Springs Pool, Bartholomew Pool, Stacy Pool, and Springwoods Pool. For additional information on year round aquatic facilities, please visit www.austintexas.gov/swimming.
