A Guru for East and West
"'Be still, and know that I am God.' Never flaunting His omnipresence, the Lord is heard only in the immaculate silences. Reverberating throughout the universe as the creative Aum vibration, the Primal Sound instantly translates Itself into intelligible words for the devotee in attunement.
God is Love; His plan for creation can be rooted only in love. Does not that simple thought, rather than erudite reasonings, offer solace to the human heart? Every saint who has penetrated to the core of Reality has testified that a divine universal plan exists and that it is beautiful and full of joy.
The blessed role of Kriya Yoga in East and West has hardly more than just begun. May all men come to know that there exists a definite, scientific technique of Self-realization for the overcoming of all human misery!
In sending loving thought vibrations to the thousands of Kriya Yogis scattered like shining jewels over the earth, I often think gratefully:
'Lord, Thou hast given this monk a large family!'"

Guru And Disciple: An Eternal Covenant of Love
"God is the goal of life, and He sends one of His divine sons--one who made the effort to contact God--to help us realize our own divinity and oneness with Him. The Guru has cosmic consciousness, and he comes to our level to raise us up from the human state to the divine state.
It is God that draws us to a guru. As our Guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, said, "If God were not planning to free you, you would not have the idea of seeking Him." So God has an interest in our salvation, and that is the reason why he sends avatars on earth from time to time.
Through God's will, our Guru created the Self-Realization Lessons, so that anyone, in any part of the world can know his teachings by studying the Lessons. Studying the lessons is sitting at the Guru's feet. These Lessons are the teachings he gave while he was in the body: what he was teaching in the temples and in his classes. Those words and ideas don't come from a human mind."

DFW-SRF Lake Texoma Fall Retreat Saturday, October 15th, 2022 10:00am to 5:00 pm
"Silence and seclusion are the secrets of success. In this modern life of activity there is only one way to separate yourself from its ceaseless demands: get away from it once in a while."- Paramahansa Yogananda
We are all looking forward to the All Day Retreat once again at Lake Texoma on October 15. Master expressed very often the importance of going on Retreats. He stated the idea of a retreat is to escape our daily lives and all of their demands on our attention. The time spent is for totally focusing on deepening our relationship with God and Guru.
The biannual Lake Texoma Retreats are arranged for adult SRF members from age 16, to give the best possible experience.
The retreat is on the beautiful grounds and home of Ms. Lynn Meyer on Lake Texoma, 51 Monarch Dr, Denison, Texas. We suggest you arrive early (9:30 am) in order to have time to settle from the long drive and have some morning refreshments. Also, separate from those worn outside on the grounds, bring a spare pair of socks or slippers for inside the house if desired.
A wonderful lunch will be provided. We need to have you sign-up for the retreat so there will be enough food prepared for everyone.
Please email to: coordinator@srfdallasfortworth.org and tell us how many are coming or use the sign-up sheet in the front room of our chapel.
Please see complete retreat information and directions at:
