On the day before Christmas in 1931 our beloved guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, held the first All Day Christmas Meditation. He said:
"We in Self-Realization Fellowship believe in the true worship of Christ, the Christ in Spirit. The real celebration of Christmas is the realization within ourselves of Christ Consciousness. This idea of devoting one day at Christmastime entirely to meditative worship of Christ, shall never die. Each year at Christmastime there are strong vibrations of Christ Consciousness in the air. Those who are attuned by their devotion and by deep scientific meditation will receive in their own consciousness these vibrations of the universal Christ Mind that was in Jesus."
On that day in 1931 as they were retiring (they meditated until 11 p.m. with a break for a supper of fruit) many guests, with tears in their eyes, said: "We have felt Christ and God today. We never knew before what the deep diving into Cosmic Consciousness meant. Most of us swam on the surface of the sea of silence, but never dived to get the beautiful pearls of God-contact." All Day Christmas Meditation December 20, 2014, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Many SRF devotees and disciples of Paramahansa Yogananda consider this to be the most significant meditation service of the year.
"New members often hesitate to face the imagined "ordeal" of an all-day meditation. But they should be encouraged to make the effort. Readers Meeting December 7, 2014
We have a very important Readers Meeting this Sunday after morning services. All readers please do your very best to be at this meeting. Many very important items will be discussed. Our meeting leader, John, has worked diligently on this for many weeks to make it as informative as possible. He has 'dug deep' to bring us guidance for this very important service. Our great Guru left these teachings to guide, inform, and inspire all those who come to this path. It is the duty of those who have the honor to present his words, to do so with the best preparation available to us.

January in Dallas Fort Worth - Sunday, January 4th--After services at 12:00 pm we will be treated to a play by our Sunday School children. Then we will celebrate Master's Birthday with cake.
- Monday, January 5th--Paramahansa Yogananda Commemoration Service at 8:00 pm.
- Saturday, January 10th--Paramahansa Yogananda All Day Commemoration Meditation. Starting at 10:00 am-5:00 pm.
- Sunday, January 11th--Annual Group Elections at 12:00 pm after services.
