Importance of Ugadi / Gudipadwa / Chetichand

Ugadi / Gudipadwa / Chetichand is celebrated as the New Year in many parts of India. The name Ugadi is derived from the Sanskrit words yuga (age) and ādi (beginning); the beginning of a new age. Asthanam will be conducted (by ONLY the priests) at the Temple which is presided by the commander-in-chief of the Lord’s army – Sri Viswaksena in the presence of Utsava deities of Lord Venkateswara, Lakshmi Devi and Bhudevi. Panchanga Sravanam will be held afterwards by the Priests only (temple is temporarily closed for all devotees, event available through LIVE streaming ONLY).
