You are all aware that the new covid variant strain numbered B1.6.17 is wrecking havoc in India and is creating a tsunami of covid positive cases. People are facing severe shortages of hospital beds, oxygen, ventilators, plasma donors. To mitigate the suffering of the people from the ill-effects of Covid-19, we wanted to inform you that our priests are conducting special prayers every day during the temple pooja's / services. Special prayers were offered by our priests during the recently concluded events like Sri Rama Navami and Navagraha homam and abhishekam on Shani Trayodasi.
To further promote vishwashanti, to eradicate covid-19 virus and for the peace of departed souls to Covid, India Cultural Center and Temple will be performing the following two homam's on Sunday, May 9th 2021 at 10:00 AM. These homam's will be performed by the priests without devotee participation.
- Sri Manyu Suktha Sahitha Adbhuta Shanti homam
- Sri Amrutha Pasupatha Maha Mrityunjaya homam
We request you to spread positivity and pray for the people suffering from the disastrous impacts of Covid-19. We sincerely urge you to help the community residing locally near your family, relatives and friends in India. We have been informed that the Covid variant B1.6.17 has also been found in positive cases in Shelby county. There are reports of this variant of the virus being highly infectious, fast spreading and air borne. Please don't take this lightly. We want to request everyone to exercise proper caution all the time. Avoid crowded and ill ventilated places, wear a protective mask fully covering your nose and mouth, maintain sufficient distance of atleast 6 feet with other persons and follow all other CDC recommended Covid-19 guidelines. Remember, even if you are vaccinated you can still be a carrier of the virus and infect others who are not yet vaccinated. If you haven't been vaccinated yet, please consider getting vaccinated, that is one of the way of staying protected from this deadly virus.
We hereby kindly request anybody who has travelled from India recently to refrain from visiting the temple until you have finished your quarantine period of 14 days. Stay safe and help keep the community safe.
