Importance of the festival/event
Bodhayana and Srikanta Shivacharya Maharishi’s expounded the Shaivagama form of worship to Lord Shiva (similar to Vikhanasa maharishi who expounded the Vaikhanasa form of worship to Lord Vishnu). Their Jayanthi (birthday) is celebrated by performing a special Abhishekam and puja.
