Importance of the festival/event
|
Sankramanam means Transit. It is related to the transit of Sun to a different Rasi (zodiac sign). Each Sankramanam is named as per the rasi the transition is made to like Makara, Kumbha, Meena, Mesha, Vrishabha, Karkataka, Simha, Kanya, Tula, Vrischika, Mithuna and Dhanus rasi. On Sankramanam, abhishekam is performed to Lord Ayyappa with milk, curd, honey, ghee, flowers etc. This kind of abhishekam gives prosperity, achievement of all desires, eliminates negative forces, getting rid of negative karma and will give you immense joy and success in life. |

As part of the next phase of easing Covid-19 temple visit restrictions, all current Poshakas, Life Members and Trustees are allowed to visit the temple during the open timings (6:00 to 9:30 AM and 5:00 to 6:30 PM). Please continue to schedule your temple visit from our website prior to your visit.
For all devotees, Dharma darshan is every Saturday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. No prior scheduling is required for Dharma darshan.
