Last Day to Register for Cultural Performance on Maha Shivaratri Day
As part of the upcoming Maha Shivaratri celebrations at India Cultural Center and Temple (ICCT), we are pleased to invite registrations from the community for classical dance performances on Maha Shivaratri evening on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025.
The Nataraja dance, a powerful symbol of change and new beginnings, is also known as the Ananda Tandava, which means "Dance of Bliss". As per Shastras, Shiva, in the avatar of Nataraja, is widely believed to be the originator of dance.
Guidelines / Criteria for Dance Performance:
· Indian classical dance by an individual or a group of up to 4 participants
· Preferred dance that is relevant to Lord Shiva / Parvathi Devi
· Minimum age of participants is 13 years
· Participant's family are required to be current year Poshakas
· Slots are spread between 8:30pm – 9:00pm and 10:30pm – 10:45pm
Due to limited slots, candidates will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Make sure to submit your application as soon as possible to secure your spot! Excited? Here are some pictures from last year
