Subject: Frankincense - The King of Oils

Dear Friend

As Christmas is just around the corner, I would like to share with you a very special Essential Oil that has religious significance at this time of year. Frankincense is also well-known for its healing properties.

Where is Frankincense found?

Frankincense trees are found in the scarce, desolate lands of Oman, Yemen and countries in the Horn of Africa. This deciduous tree with white and pale pink
flowers can grow on rocky outcrops without the presence of soil. When his resin or ‘tears’ are steam distilled, you are gifted an oil that has been used for
magical and religious purposes for around 3,000 years.

The chemistry of Frankincense

Frankincense oil contains a complex mixture of monoterpenes such as alpha-pinene, Limonene, alpha-Thujene, and beta-Pinene. This intricate mixture of components works together to make an oil with many uses and benefits. The unique chemical constituents contribute to Frankincense essential oil’s renewing effects when applied topically and ability to support diverse cells in the body when taken internally.* The monoterpenes also contribute to the aromatic benefits of Frankincense essential oil, including its ability to promote relaxation and a sense of focus.

Benefits and uses of Frankincense

Known as the king of essential oils, Frankincense has a variety of notable uses and benefits. This powerful essential oil is revered for its ability to beautify and rejuvenate skin when applied topically, and to promote cellular health and immunity and produce a healthy inflammatory response when taken internally,* among other benefits.

With all of its many uses, there is no question as to why Frankincense was highly esteemed by ancient civilizations and used for the most sacred of practices. For some religions, Frankincense is correlated with one of the most prized possessions of ancient biblical times, as it was considered valuable enough to be given as a gift to Christ after his birth. Frankincense was also used during religious ceremonies for salves for soothing skin and perfume.

The perfume or aroma that Frankincense emits promotes feelings of satisfaction, peace, relaxation, and overall wellness, which explains its unique value in ancient times.

Frankincense  blends well with other oils. My all time favourite blend is Frankincense, Lavender and Wild Orange, either in a diffuser or diluted with a carrier oil and applied to the skin using a roller blend.

If you would like to know how you can obtain a bottle of this oil free, for the month of December, get in touch.

Wishing you a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year

With Best Wishes

Carolyn
