1.  Winter Screening Resources and Data Reviews

The winter screeners will be available starting November 1 and will be available through February 28.  Each grade level page on the Program Resources tab will be updated to provide the winter screening resources.  To access the resources provided on the Program Resources page please use the username deltamath and the password math4all.

After screening all students, the Winter Data Review can assist analysis of impact from fall tier 2 intervention, organize small groups for winter intervention and communicate successes and winter action plans to students and parents.

Late winter screening up is recommended for all students, including kindergarten.  The Late Winter Screen-up Data Protocol can assist in the identification of students who may need additional tier 1 support on the Delta Math readiness standards already taught during core instruction.  This data may also assist in planning to review for upcoming state tests.

2.  Grade-level Intervention Kits

Delta Math Kits are now available to support intervention groups of up to 10 students.  The cost of each grade-level kit is $79.99 (plus shipping) and each kit contains perforated card stock of the guided practice cards, independent practice cards, and mats used for whole number operations, algebraic expressions and equations for each readiness standard within the grade level.  Additional accessibility tools are available to support student mathematical thinking throughout the Concrete/Representational/Abstract instructional approach to build fluency from conceptual understanding.  To learn more, go to the Math Intervention Kits page on the Tier 2 Lessons tab.

3.  Intervention Lesson Development

All tier 2 lessons for the 1st grade through 8th grade readiness standards, including sessions 5 through 8, are now included to provide additional guided practice.  Please view the Standard-based Intervention Cycle Overview support video to see how sessions 5 through 8 extend students learning opportunities using math drawings.

An increase in requests for Tier 3 intervention lessons moved their development ahead of the Algebra 1 tier 2 lessons and the Algebra 2 readiness screener. Therefore, the current tier 2 lessons will be modified to stretch the Concrete/Representational/Abstract instructional sequence over the full 8 sessions.  Another change includes the elimination of references to grade levels to avoid potential emotional barriers for students receiving support multiple years below their grade level.

All tier 3 intervention lessons, including a planning guide, should be available within the next month.
