Regardless of our vocational background, the hat we wear ought to be the joy of our Lord. We should be excited to honor the One who created us – dedicating to Him our position of responsibility, whether it be homemaker, white collar professional, skilled tradesman, or serving fulltime ministry for the Lord. Is our mental desire filled with excitement? Being a ‘New Creature in our Lord,’ carries significance to understand and recognize.
The follower of Jesus hopefully never loses the excitement and fervor of being part of the ‘Family of God’ – being devoted to the task of his or her love in what they are about; much like my years as a civil servant. Our product was serving. I truly took delight in my product. During my 40 plus years of work as a civil servant, I wore a lot of different hats of responsibility.
All this is to recognize each follower of our Lord is given at least one ‘spiritual gift’ upon entering God’s Kingdom for service. Identifying what that spiritual gift is may be very apparent to you, or it can be recognized or discovered through counsel and even spiritual motivation analysis tests.
Becoming zealous to confirm ‘our calling and election’ brings a greater joy and excitement to what our Savior will bless us in regarding what we’re meant to do in life. This can bring awareness to those seeking to find faith, or to a new follower, or bring greater confidence for the established believer.
The writer of Hebrews says it so well in his epistle. We’re encouraged to be zealous with confidence as we draw near to God’s throne of grace to receive mercy and grace in our time of need. (cf. Hebrews 4:16)
Father, thank you for granting us a confirmation as to our call to serve you. Help us to recognize our need for joy and devoted eagerness as we establish our identity. May we draw closer to your throne of grace and mercy, Amen.

The steps to share your faith without fear – no confrontation. Pray and then get them alone.
Ask these five questions to help discover their personal spiritual condition.
Do you have any kind of spiritual belief?
To you, who is Jesus?
Do you think there is a heaven and a hell?
If you died right now, where would you go?
If what you believe were not true, would you want to know it?
Listen to their answers in a calm and open way. You are asking their permission to share Christ with the last question. If they say no, you can drop it – no confrontation. You have still done the work of Christ and offered the truth.
Here are a series of five Bible verses to ask the lost person to read aloud if you have their permission. Let them read them and remain silent. After each verse they read, ask them what it says to them. If they misunderstand, ask them to read it again until they admit the truth in the verse.

if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.… Romans 10:9-10 BSB
Then ask them a series of five questions that summarizes the truth of the verses and lead the lost person to the point of decision.
Are you a sinner?
Do you want forgiveness for your sins?
Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and rose again?
Are you willing to surrender yourself to Christ?
Are you ready to invite Jesus into your heart and into your life?
Lead them in the Sinner's Prayer if they are ready to make a decision. Stay in touch and get them discipled or connect them with a local fellowship or small group for future growth.
