What Would You Change - Jane H. Young

If you knew God was scheduled to search your heart today, would you change anything before he began? I’m sure we all would if we were honest with ourselves. Scripture tells us that God indeed searches our hearts.

"As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts.” (1 Chronicles 28:9 NASB)

Why would you wait to make the changes that you already know need to be made? Why would it take God ‘searching your heart’? What we really need is to search His written word and our eyes will be opened to the changes we need to make. Let God search your heart daily as you study and seek His will in the scriptures.

We think no one knows how we really think about things, or how we feel. God knows everything about us, and every thought we’ve ever had or will have. I began with the question – what would you change – if you knew God was coming to give you a heart exam? Why are you waiting? Start making those changes today — right now.

Our hearts need a deep cleansing. Why not start with one thing today that will make your exam from God an ‘A’. You may ask, ‘what is the starting point for my life?’ It’s actually different for each of us, but we all have to take that first step. Take a few minutes each day, get quiet before God and listen — He’ll show you where to begin..

“Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 NASB)

Prayer: Lord show me what I need to change in my life, give me the strength to make the changes that will make my heart and thoughts pleasing to you, and a witness to others of your love.
