“Don’t become angry quickly, because getting angry is foolish.” Ecclesiastics 7:9 NCV. We all have a legacy that we are going to leave with people someday when we pass away. I started to think about that when I found out about a co-worker named Isaac. After losing his job, he murdered a seventy-one-year-old woman with a baseball bat. When I think of Isaac, that is how I will remember him. I don’t know what provoked him to do this, but I know that he was under a lot of pressure. Sadly, at my previous job I had a lot of stress, and I did not handle it very well. I let myself become angry and foolish. There was a day when I lost control of my anger so bad that they almost called the police. Had it not been for a fellow Christian woman, I might have ended up in jail. I was suspended for a few days and ended up on medication to help myself. The last paragraph was a very hard thing for me to admit. The sad thing is that I can’t change the past. All I can do is change the present. I feel that I am a different person now. While I am not perfect in many areas, I feel that I am living my life for the Lord. I pray about my anger especially when I feel stressed. Also, I feel my attitude is different because I care about my fatal flaws. As Christians, we need to think about what our legacy is going to be after we leave a job and when we die. In my case, I must not become quick to get angry.
