The Glorious Truth – Jane H. Young
There are so many today who claim that Jesus' death and resurrection are just a made-up fairy tale and you aren’t very smart if you believe such a story. Well, from what I have read, if it isn’t true, it reads more like a horror story, than a fairy tale. But the Bible itself addresses these scoffers and is bold enough to proclaim the truth that if the resurrection is a lie, our preaching and faith are in vain and we are still in our sins.
“and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.” 1 Corinthians 15:14-15 NASB
Paul and the other Apostles were eyewitnesses and knew for certain if the resurrection was true. If it were a lie, they would have been the ones to make it up. So how do we know they were telling the truth? Because people do not die for a lie, they know for certain is a lie. The Apostles willingly gave up their lives for their proclamation of the resurrection of Jesus. They died refusing to recant the absolute truth of the resurrection.
It’s sad when people pass and you hear those who deny the truth of the Bible, with no knowledge, saying things like—they are in a better place, we will see them again one day. Well, where is that better place for those that don’t believe and where are they going to see their loved ones again? But because Christ did rise from the dead and now lives in our hearts, those of us who believe are most blessed, because we have the assurance of that better place one day. What a glorious truth!
There is only one way to that better place:
“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:9-13 NASB
Today is the day of your salvation, trust in Jesus now.
